This is my first time waxing and I’m nervous--will it hurt?
-
First of all, take a deep breath. You’re in good hands! Our estheticians have been specially trained with a technique that minimizes pain. We care about your comfort level and will guide you 100% of the way!

What kind of wax do you use?
-
We use 2 types of soft wax: First, a high-quality tea tree soft wax that’s been formulated to melt at lower temperatures. It’s effective on a variety of hair types, while remaining gentle on skin, as well as providing extra protection against infection due to its pure tea tree oil content. Ideal for face and Brazilian waxing, it leaves skin with minimal redness and no irritation. Second, an Azulene soft wax. This gel-like wax contains oil extracted from chamomile flowers, providing anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-allergenic properties. Good for all skin types, including sensitive skin, its gel-like consistency makes it perfect for body waxing.

Which is better, hard wax or soft wax?
-
There is a lot of debate about this topic, and people tend to disagree. Both options have their pros and cons, but we prefer to use soft wax, as it allows for smaller strips, which is both more comfortable for the client and helps prevent ingrown hairs. However, ultimately what’s most important is that the wax is high-quality, the esthetician is well trained, and the salon is clean and sanitary. We believe the rest simply comes down to personal preference.

Can I get waxed if I’m pregnant?
-
Yes, just bear in mind that you may be a little more sensitive to pain. If you are concerned, please consult your doctor beforehand.

How can I prevent ingrown hairs?
-
Three words: Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! Start 5 to 7 days after waxing, and do it gently everyday (or every other day if you have sensitive skin). You can use a loofah, exfoliating gloves, a sugar scrub, or any products that contain salicylic acid or lactic acid. Consistency is key. Additionally, getting into a regular waxing routine by visiting every 4-6 weeks will help your skin get used to the process, and reduce the risk of ingrown hairs in general.
-
-
Do you double dip?
-
Never. For each session, we pour fresh wax into a new paper cup, which is used on you and only you, and is then discarded once your waxing is done. By only using one stick and one cup per session, we’re able to keep our salon both clean and environmentally friendly.

-
Do you perform Brazilians on male genitalia?
-
Due to the high sensitivity of the body part in question, performing a Brazilian on male genitalia requires specific training. Unfortunately, we do not currently have any estheticians who are trained for this procedure. However, your satisfaction is important to us, and we would be happy to refer you to another salon where you can get it done.
